Wiithout fail. Every time. I always underestimate how long it takes to teach the rules of a board game. I need to double the time I think it will take.
For the last year, my main PC has been a docked Steam Deck and I know that sounds insane. But, if I’m honest, it just works. I now dread using my windows work machine. Linux is just a better experience overall.
Energy Vampire reminded me: I think being wrong on the internet is rewarded. People will either believe, get angry, or correct the record. Either way, it’s all a form of engagement. And algorithms love that.
Needed a way to send my clipboard to multiple devices. KDE Connect works great for this. Highly recommended. I no longer have to email myself links. Praise be!
Social media isn’t social anymore. It’s just media. Media we resent and don’t trust. We know it manipulates. Divides. Angers. Algorithms don’t want real connection. They want conflict. Cheap and predictable attention. It’s a business model built on creating unhappy customers.
A philosophy of creative constraints
Good constraints create good work. Constraints should motivate and energize.
The rules should be clear. Consistent. Easy to follow. Constraints should create choices. But, not too many. Constrained work should have a unique feel.
Above all, constraints should be fun.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I’m back and ready to make some games.
🎨 I took a screenshot of an old scene I made in Dreams (PS4) years ago. So, I challenged my self to get it to under 32kb. After some posterization and dithering, I kind of like how it turned out.
